Cuartel de Ballajá

Join us for a very special night under the stars at the historic Cuartel de Ballajá, right in the center of Old San Juan.

ICM 2027 will host a banquet in this historic venue on Wednesday, June 16, a night filled to the brim with the rich and diverse cuisine, music, and traditions of Puerto Rico. You do NOT want to miss this event!

Tickets must be purchased in addition to your conference registration. Transportation will be provided.

The Cuartel de Ballajá was built from 1854 to 1864, initially to house the Spanish and Puerto Rican regiments in Old San Juan, and later occupied by the US Infantry until 1936. The building was restored in 1992 and now houses a dance school, a music school, the Museo de las Américas, the Puerto Rico Academy of the Spanish Language, and the State Office of Historic Conservation and hosts many special events including weddings, concerts, and festivals.
