San Juan, Puerto Rico!

The small island of Puerto Rico (just 100 miles long and 35 miles wide) is a U.S. territory with a rich 500-year history of the interweaving of the Taíno, African, and Spanish cultures, traditions, food, music, and more. Puerto Rico is brimming with vibrant diversity in absolutely everything you see, hear, taste, and feel!

The capital city of San Juan is the largest city in Puerto Rico and is located on the Atlantic coast. The beaches, bars, nightclubs and casinos give you something to do at all hours of the day or night! The cobblestoned Old San Juan neighborhood features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and 16th-century landmarks, including El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive fortresses with sweeping ocean views. You can also visit the Casa BACARDÍ distillery to learn about the history of rum, Plaza Las Américas, the largest shopping center in the Caribbean, and many other museums and historic sites.

Outside of San Juan, you will find the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Park system, breathtaking waterfalls, over 300 gorgeous beaches, and so much more. The people of Puerto Rico are known for their passion and joy for life, and are eager to share it with visitors. Make sure you leave plenty of time to explore the island!

Getting There

There are two major international airports in Puerto Rico:

Once you arrive, getting around is easy. In San Juan, you can use taxis, rideshares, and public transportation. If you want to explore beyond the city, renting a car is your best option.

Taxis are located outside Terminals A and B, with the main taxi station in Terminal A.

The Metropolitan Bus Authority operates public buses that can be found at Terminals A and D, making it a convenient option for budget-conscious travelers.

Rideshare options like Uber are available at designated pick-up spots located on the ground floor of Terminals A and B.
