Tutorial Speaker

Shulei Zhang is an Associate Professor of Physics at Case Western Reserve University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Arizona and subsequently held postdoctoral positions at the University of Missouri and Argonne National Laboratory before joining Case Western Reserve University.

As a theoretical condensed-matter physicist, his research focuses on quantum transport and spin dynamics in magnetic and topological materials. His work has revealed how quantum geometry, topology, and spin–orbit coupling give rise to nonlinear magnetotransport and spin–charge conversion in topological insulators and semimetals. His current research examines how electrons interact with collective excitations and magnetic textures, aiming to uncover emergent transport phenomena and, on the application side, to develop magnon- and skyrmion-enabled modalities for quantum sensing and information processing.
