Samuel Mañas-Valero

Universidad de Valencia, Spain

Semi-Plenary Speaker

Samuel Mañas-Valero is a Ramón y Cajal tenure-track fellow at the University of Valencia, Spain, since 2026. He received his Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2021, followed by postdoctoral research at Delft University of Technology.

His research centers on magnetism, spanning the crystal growth of van der Waals magnets (both inorganic and molecular), their exfoliation and integration into nanoscale electronic devices, and, more recently, the use of solid-state spin defects for the quantum sensing of spin waves — bridging static and dynamic magnetic phenomena at the intersection of physics, materials science, and chemistry.

He has received several international awards for his work, including the 2026 Olivier Kahn International Award from the European Institute of Molecular Magnetism, the 2026 IEEE Magnetics Society Early Career Award, and the 2023 Young Scientist Award from the European Magnetism Association.
