Lu Li
University of Michigan, USA
Lu Li is a Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan. He received his B.S degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2002 and Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2008. He spent three years at MIT as a Pappalardo Fellow before joining the Physics department of the University of Michigan in 2011.
Professor Li is interested in the investigation of novel magnetic and transport properties of strongly correlated systems, such as novel oxide interfaces, frustrated quantum magnets, and high Tc superconductors. In these systems, the strong correlation drives the interplay among various spin and orbital states and gives rise to an astonishingly rich array of phenomena. Right now, his research focuses on topological quantum materials and unconventional quantum oscillations in insulators.
Professor Li is a fellow of the American Physical Society, and he has received the Brown Investigator Award, the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award, the Department of Energy Early Career Award, the Oxford Instruments Lee Osheroff Richardson North American Science Prize, and the OCPA Outstanding Young Researcher Award.
