Hyunsoo Yang is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where his research focuses on magnetic materials and spintronic devices. Prior to joining NUS, he worked at C&S Technology, LG Electronics in San Jose, and Intelligent Fiber Optic Systems in California. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and was a researcher at the IBM–Stanford Spintronic Science and Applications Center from 2004 to 2007. He has authored more than 280 journal publications, delivered over 200 invited talks, and holds 21 patents. His honors include the 2006 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the American Physical Society (GMAG), the IEEE Magnetics Society Distinguished Lecturer (2019), the Minister of Science and ICT Award (2020), and the IEEE Magnetics Society Mid-Career Award (2025). He is a Fellow of the IEEE and the American Physical Society (APS).
